Dear Friends, 

the production "The Merchant of Venice", 
directed by Gabriel Gietzky, will be presented on 9 May 2009, in the framework of 49th Kalisz Theatre Meetings.

The aim of Kalisz Theatre Meetings (Kaliskie Spotkania Teatralne) is the presentation of most interesting roles, most brilliant actors' creations, all kinds of artistic research theatre could not go without. This new formula determined the exceptional nature of Kalisz festival, accepted both by theatre circles and the audience, loyally accompanying every festival edition.

Kalisz Theatre Meetings take place every year in May. Productions are shown on two stages of Bogusławski Theatre. Awards are presented in categories including Festival Grand Prix, Main Actors' Awards, Awards for Supporting Roles, Awards for a Company, Audience Award, Journalists Award, Sponsors Award, ZASP (Polish Actors Union) Award, Wojciech Statuette and other distinctions.
